A secret friendship

made possible by the sea

softens our fall.

 

Tacit knowledge deflects,

so invisible anchors

might tie us to her shore.

 

A dormant workforce

awakened

to the touch of new steel.

 

The mystery is safe;

 our silence is warm

for the embrace of our children's arms.
